About Liberated Expression

Our Story

Long before Liberated Expression became a publishing company, it began with a love for creating.

As a child, founder Brenda D. Taylor was rarely without a story to tell. She eagerly participated in Young Authors events, wrote books for fun, and even transformed newspaper comic strips into handmade mini books. Creating wasn't simply a hobby—it was a natural way of expressing ideas, imagination, and curiosity.

Years later, that same passion led Brenda to write her memoir. Like many first-time authors, she pursued the traditional publishing route, contacting literary agents and publishers in hopes of finding the right fit. While there was interest in her work, the opportunities often came with conditions. She was encouraged to change parts of her story—even its title—to make it more marketable.

But the story she wanted to tell was her own.

Rather than compromise her vision, Brenda chose a different path. She immersed herself in the publishing process, learned every step required to produce a professional-quality book, and successfully published her memoir on her own terms.

What began as a personal journey soon became something much larger. Friends, colleagues, and aspiring authors began asking for help with their own publishing projects. One project became another, and another, until it became clear that there was a need for a publishing company that valued collaboration over control—one that respected each creator's vision while providing the professional guidance needed to bring it to life.

That vision became Liberated Expression.

Today, Liberated Expression partners with authors, educators, entrepreneurs, organizations, and creatives to produce professionally crafted books, journals, workbooks, educational resources, photo books, corporate publications, and custom creative projects. Every project is approached with the same philosophy that inspired the company from the beginning: your work should reflect your voice, your purpose, and your vision.

While our publishing services continue to grow, our purpose reaches even further. A portion of every project helps support the long-term vision of establishing Literary Innovators Academy, an innovative K–12 school where creativity, literacy, STEM, entrepreneurship, and personalized learning come together to prepare students for lives of purpose, leadership, and lifelong learning.

At Liberated Expression, we believe ideas deserve to be shared without losing the heart of what made them worth creating in the first place.

Whether you're preserving a legacy, educating others, building your brand, or inspiring future generations, we're honored to help you create something that lasts.

Our Mission

At Liberated Expression, our mission is to empower individuals, educators, entrepreneurs, organizations, and businesses to transform their ideas into professionally crafted publications that educate, inspire, preserve legacies, and create lasting impact. Through personalized guidance, creative excellence, and a commitment to quality, we help bring each client's unique vision to life while advancing literacy, lifelong learning, and opportunities for future generations.
